Individual Workshops with Coach & Founder, Andrew Persin

What is an Individual Workshop?

Individual workshops are aimed to help any player at any level excel at his or her basketball game in a one on one setting with Coach Persin.

What can I expect in an individual workshop?

Each individual workshop will differ according to the player's skill level and age level. Each workshop will also differ in that it will tailor to the individual player's goal(s) (making the middle school team, high school team, college team, or simply increasing his/her skill level). In general, players can expect an environment much different than weekly practices or clinics. The workshop environment will be focused on training with short (30-45 second breaks) for the duration of the training. The workshop will be extremely intense focusing mainly on improving the three "pillars of athleticism"-speed, power, and agility. Drills will be creative and quick, incorporating multi-directional movements, linear speed development, light weightlifting equipment, and strength cords that build explosive power and core strength. In addition, high-speed shooting and dribbling drills will be incorporated according to each player's strengths and weaknesses (in these two fundamental areas of the game). With a perfect mix of the previously mentioned athletic training and shooting/dribbling, each player will have the opportunity to walk away from his/her workshop feeling steps ahead of his/her competition.

Why should my child train in workshops?

One on One training is arguably the best environment for individual growth as a player. It is the quickest and most efficient way to attain one's personal goals and improve one's individual game. With no layup lines, no shooting lines, no dribbling lines, no long breaks, and no distraction, a player in this environment has no excuses. As Coach and Director, I will be personally responsible for devoting all of my time and effort to coaching your child on his/her personal game. I will have time to fine-tune his/her game, correct his/her "bad" habits, and answer as many questions as he/she has throughout the training process. In addition, each time we train, we will build on our previous gains. We will keep personal logs for each of our individual drills, marking improvement on paper. It is vital to log players' improvements, as this gives each player knowledge of exactly where he/she stands in each of the aformentioned elements of the game.

How long are the workshops and what is the cost?

Trainings are 1 hour: $50  (this is subject to change*) - discounts awarded to committed athletes who book more than 10 training sessions.
*Hourly rate may change due to player age, familial situation, financial hardship, etc.

Where Are Trainings?

Currently, trainings will be held at the athlete's home or a park nearby the athlete's home. I travel to meet my athletes. The exact location will be worked out between the parents and Coach Persin before official training begins.

When are trainings and is a commitment required?

Trainings are flexible and can be changed from week to week, as long as Coach Persin has a few days (3-4) notice to prepare. There is NO commitment required. In others words, you can pay for a training, and not train again. You can pay once, train...pay the next week, train...and then no more. That is fine. Workshops are built for the serious, motivated, and extremely passionate basketball athlete so, as a coach, I do not recommend these previous scenarios. However, they are better than no personal training. If a player chooses to train "regularly", then payment can be received at/before each workshop or a player may pay for a certain amount of workshops up front. Simply let Coach Persin know what you are interested in.
